• Born on 16th Aug.1942 at Sidhantam on the banks of River Godavari in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Presumed to have been born in the lineage of the great Kambhampati Vallabhacharya of Bhakti tradition.  Son of Smt. Lakshmi Thulasi and Sri. Appanna Sastry.
  • After his Primary and Secondary education in the same village of his birth place, he went to Vishakhapatnam for higher education.
  • His doctoral thesis is on Swami Vivekananda’s English.
  • After working as a Lecturer in English for a few years in Andhra Pradesh, he moved on to Tamilnadu to experiment with Gurukula type of education at a collegeate level in Madurai, Tamilnadu. 
  • As a Principal of that Gurukul college named after Swami Vivekananda, he was able to establish himself as an eminent educationist.  The college too is unique for its autonomous and residential type of functioning.  It is one of the best colleges in the country with ‘A’ rank awarded by the NAAC. He is its Principal for two and half decades.
  • While being the Principal of the Gurukul college, he went to the National Defence Academy on deputation as its Principal for a few years.  NDA is known for its martial discipline and Vivekananda Gurukul college at Madurai is known for its spiritual discipline.  And Dr. K. Subrahmanyam is known for being a disciplinarian. 
  • Guided M.Phil. and Ph.D. scholars.
  • Addressed gatherings in prestigious institutions like IITs and AMA (Ahmedabad Management Associations) at Ahmedabad, on topics like ‘Hanuman- the Chief Executive Officer’.

  • Vivekananda Vibhuti is an organization of Hyderabad which has honoured him with the title ‘Parivrajakacharya’ in Hyderabad.
